When the nut puns roll in, there’s a banana nut muffin to make it happen

Posted February 20, 2020 11:06:30The nut pun-laced muffins are being made from the best banana nuts available in the country and are being sold in Melbourne’s CBD.

The bananas have been sourced from an old banana plantation and are roasted in a special fire oven, the ABC’s Ben Smith reports.

While most nut punters have probably never tried a nut pun, the peanut-flavoured version is popular.

A friend, who only gave her first name, said: “I had heard about the nut nut muffina, but I never thought I’d actually get to eat one.”

A second friend said: ”The muffins have got to be good because I hate nuts.

“And I hate the taste of nuts.”

It’s all a bit weird, but it’s delicious.”

The nut muffinas are being created by chef Tom Dickson, who works in the city’s food and beverage industries.

They are available to order at the cafe and can be found in the cafe’s stockroom.

Mr Dickson has worked in Melbourne for more than 10 years, and has a passion for all things food.

He said the muffins were his “little secret” and would be sold only at the café.

“I love the nut nuts and nut pun,” he said.

“They’re a treat to eat and the banana nut is one of my favourites.”

We don’t serve them here.

But we have them here in Melbourne and they’re a hit.”
